The festival has six stages including the Waterfront Stage showcasing the sounds of funk to ghettotech, the Stargate Stage and Detroit Stage with local veterans and rising stars, the Underground Stage set as a "warehouse party" and of course the main Movement Stage at the heart of the festival.

Movement Detroit will take place across Memorial Day Weekend which is from May 25–May 27.

Last year the festival had Basement Jaxx headlining alongside Underworld and Charlotte De Witte.
